North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) is the largest healthcare provider on the North Shore offering comprehensive health services to residents of our communities. NSMC includes NSMC Salem Hospital, NSMC Union Hospital, NSMC North Shore Children's Hospital, the NSMC Heart Center, the Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center , the NSMC Women's Center, North Shore Physician Group practices, as well as a wide range of outpatient services. As a member of Partners HealthCare, NSMC participates in a wide range of collaborative patient care programs with Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital and provides patients with access to some of the most advanced subspecialists in the world. NSMC is also a beneficiary of PHS's leadership in advancing technology that improves patient safety and quality.
NSMC Salem Hospital is a 248-bed community teaching hospital that provides comprehensive adult and pediatric services. It is home to the angioplasty, electrophysiology and cardiac surgery programs of the NSMC Heart Center as well as the complete obstetrical services of the Birthplace at Salem Hospital. It offers the North Shore's largest emergency service and is designated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Primary Stroke Service hospital. NSMC Salem Hospital offers a full range of surgical services including many minimally invasive procedures, an outpatient SurgiCenter, and full inpatient surgery facilities. NSMC's full pediatric services are located on the Salem campus as well.
Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehabilitation Hospital, although located on the Salem campus, is a separate institution and a component Partners Continuing Care.
NSMC Union Hospital is a 147-bed, acute care community hospital dedicated to providing high-quality, convenient health care to the residents of Lynn and surrounding communities. The clinical staff provides sophisticated adult medical and surgical services including emergency care, convenient day surgeries and other procedures. A state-of-the-art Interventional Radiology Suite enables physicians to provide sophisticated treatment involving the vascular system with the latest technology. The Rosemary Costin Center for Women's Wellness at NSMC Union Hospital offers a community of caregivers who provide personalized, innovative, traditional and holistic healthcare services for women on the North Shore, to promote the health and well-being of mind, body and soul.
Our newest collaboration is the Mass General/North Shore Center for Outpatient Care in Danvers, MA. This pristine, modern facility offers more sophisticated services than any other outpatient facility in the region, including the latest in outpatient and minimally invasive surgery, cardiac diagnostics, and advanced imaging services.
