Calling a patient
The main number for both NSMC Salem and NSMC Union hospitals is 978.741.1200. When you call, our operators will look up the patient’s phone number and connect you.
Be aware that patients have the right to NOT receive phone calls, visitors or gifts. Occasionally a patient will indicate that she or he is not to be contacted during his or her stay. In that case the hospital operators will not be permitted to help you find a patient who prefers to remain incommunicado.
Visiting policy
Visits from your family and friends play an important role in your recovery. We have established visiting schedules (daily, 11 to 8 p.m.) and guidelines for your comfort and well-being. Because rest is also vital to your recovery, please have your guests keep visits brief and quiet. Please limit your guests to two at a time. All guests are asked to be mindful of all hospital patients and be considerate of their needs.
