To inquire about a patient's condition: To protect our patients’ confidentiality, all media inquiries are handled through the NSMC Marketing and Public Relations department.
Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
After hours, please call 978.741.1200 and ask to speak with the nurse supervisor or the on-call marketing and PR staff member.

Patient conditions are provided according to the guidelines of the American Hospital Association. Those conditions and their descriptions include:
- Good: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious and comfortable. Indicators are excellent.
- Fair: Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. Patient is conscious but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable.
- Serious: Vital signs may be unstable and not within normal limits. Patient is acutely ill. Indicators are questionable.
- Critical: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be uncomfortable. Indicators are unfavorable.
Any additional patient information may only be provided with written consent of the patient.
