Mass General Oncologist Joins NSMC Cancer Center in Peabody
1/30/2008

Peabody, Mass. – North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) has added a new medical oncologist to its staff at the NSMC Cancer Center. Rachel Rosovsky, M.D., will split her time between NSMC’s Cancer Center and the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.

Dr. Rosovsky is a thoracic oncologist, board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. She sees patients three days a week in Peabody. She is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and completed fellowships in hematology/oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Her clinical interests include lung cancer, hypercoagulable states and hematology.

Dr. Rosovsky has also been recognized as a gifted teacher. She has taught hematology to second-year Harvard Medical School students for the last two years, receiving excellent reviews. She has also achieved early success in clinical research and has recently been granted funding for a large multi-institutional study, combining her interests in lung cancer and anticoagulation.

Before choosing a career in thoracic oncology, Dr. Rosovsky was a junior high school math and science teacher in Manchester-by-the-Sea. She now lives in Newton, Mass. with her husband and two children.
