The NSMC Internal Medicine Residency Program is a fully accredited program, with both one year (preliminary) and three year (categorical) positions available. NSMC is the largest integrated health care system between Boston and Portland, Maine, with affiliations to both Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital. Graduates of our residency program have continued their careers at the
National Institutes of Health, Yale-New Haven Hospital,
Massachusetts General Hospital,
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and many other reputable institutions. NSMC residents are encouraged to take part in ongoing clinical research trials and all residents are required to complete a publication-worthy project by the end of the third year.
One of the great strengths of our residency program is the friendly, supportive environment. Many of our medical staff, administrators, and other hospital employees have worked in this program for many years and are dedicated to your success.
