Cancer treatment has improved dramatically in the last 10 years due to advances in medical, radiation and surgical oncology. Developing a patient's optimum treatment plan has become very complicated, and often necessitates the opinion of multiple specialists. This creates a logistical challenge for patients if the many different specialists they need to see are located in various offices.

Our Philosophy

At Mass General/North Shore Cancer Center we take a multidisciplinary clinic approach in order to solve this problem for our patients. Our multidisciplinary clinics can make your experience much more manageable by providing comprehensive cancer care in a single, supportive environment. Our integrated approach is in place even outside of our formal clinics. Our medical and radiation oncology departments are located adjacent to one another and work very closely together. They often see patients together, reviewing imaging studies and planning the overall treatment program. Surgical specialists are frequently consulted as well.
