NSMC's Nephrology physicians care for patients with disorders of the kidneys, including:
- renal failure
- genetic renal diseases
- renal metabolic disorders
Their areas of special interest include hypertension and urinary tract infections. Dialysis treatment is available at NSMC. Transplantation, if necessary, is performed through our collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
The NSMC Pediatric Nephrology Department is staffed by physicians from NSMC North Shore Children's Hospital and MassGeneral Hospital for Children. We provide diagnostic and treatment services for infants, children and adolescents with disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract, including:
- urinary tract infections
- voiding problems
- kidney stones
- renal cystic diseases
- acute renal failure
- chronic renal failure
- hypertension
