We have a number physicians who specialize in Pulmonology and Critical
Care for adult patients. They treat conditions such as sleep apnea,
sleep disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD),
emphysema, asthma, cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
Our Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is located at NSMC Union Hospital campus and is designed for patients with asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, or who are pre- or post-lung surgery. Read our Pulmonary Rehabilitation brochure.
The Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation program helps patients with manage their day to day activities more effectively. We begin with an initial evaluation by a team of Respiratory Care Practitioners and a Physical Therapist, from which we create customized physical conditioning plans and educational sessions.
Mass General for Children at North Shore Medical Center in Salem provides a Pediatric Pulmonology Clinic staffed by a pediatric pulmonologist from MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Infants, children and adolescents are diagnosed and treated for pulmonary and respiratory disorders including asthma, cystic fibrosis, chronic respiratory illnesses, tuberculosis (TB), congenital abnormalities of the lungs and respiratory tracts and sleep-related breathing disorders such as apnea.
