Pediatrics

NSMC Speech and Language pathologists are experts in pediatric communication disorders involving oral and written language.They provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services, as well as individualized caregiver training for:

  • Articulation
  • Attention/listening
  • Following directions
  • Receptive and expressive language
  • Voice
  • Stuttering
  • Non-verbal communication
  • Pragmatics
  • Reading and written language
  • Feeding and swallowing, including reflux, failure to thrive, transition to textured foods and more conditions

Our staff also take part in multidisciplinary teams, which work together to diagnose and evaluate patients. The Speech, Language and Hearing department works closely with the Multidisciplinary Evaluation Center, Feeding Team, the Florence Robertson Clinic, Cleft Palate Team, as well as Swallowing Studies (which we provide in conjunction with our Radiology group).
